Marcella Butler of Los Soneto Drive departed this life peacefully on October 10, 2012. She was born on July 16, 1959 to William D. Butler Sr. and the late Beatrice L. Butler.

Marcella graduated from Morse High School class of 1977, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University in 2009. She was employed with the County of San Diego, Department of Housing and Community Development.

Marcella Butler of Los Soneto Drive departed this life peacefully on October 10, 2012. She was born on July 16, 1959 to William D. Butler Sr. and the late Beatrice L. Butler.

Marcella graduated from Morse High School class of 1977, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University in 2009. She was employed with the County of San Diego, Department of Housing and Community Development.

Marcella was an active member of New Creation Church of San Diego, California until her health failed. She served on the Sunrise Usher Board and The Woman of Faith. She also enjoyed the weekly Praise on Wednesday (POW) services. She completed two years of Bethel Bible Class.

Her life was filled with family and friends. During the family Holiday gatherings she enjoyed getting everyone involved in board games, card games of the newest craze Nintendo Wii games. Everyone felt welcome around her.

In 2010 Marcella spearheaded a team of woman, the Hot Pink Chi-Chi Sisters, in their first Susan G. Coleman 3-day walk to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research. Although Marcella was fighting her own battle with cancer she took pride in giving back and encouraging others to reach their fullest potential. Her dynamic personality, sense of humor, strong will and "Keep it moving" attitude reinforced team spirit.

Marcella was preceded in death by her mother Beatrice Butler and sister Marta Butler.

She leaves to cherish her memory her father William Butler, Sr.; brothers Glen Yonkers (Adrianna) of Norfolk, VA and William Butler, Jr. (Monita) of Fort Worth, TX; sisters Karen Yonkers of Portsmouth, VA and Sharen Yonkers of San Diego, CA; special nephews Charles Hood Jr. (MeLaine) of Orange Park, FL, Davon Yonkers (Danielle) of Richmond, VA and Rodney Butler (Jill) of Long Beach, CA also a special niece Matoia Duncan Butler of Fort Worth, TX, an aunt, uncles, cousins and several friends.

Her jubilant smile and effervescent attitude will be missed by all who loved her.
